Ingredients

  • 3 pieces thick-cut bacon, roughly chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Cup beer
  • 1/4 Cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 Cup molasses
  • 1/4 Cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Dijon mustard
  • 1 Teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon pepper
  • 3 15-ounce cans beans, drained and rinsed (choose three from among pinto, white, kidney, and black beans)
  • 1 Cup water, as needed

  • 10 slices bacon
  • ½ pound ground beef
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • 1 (16 ounce) can pork and beans
  • 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained
  • 1 (15 ounce) can butter beans, drained
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce
  • ⅓ cup white sugar
  • ⅓ cup packed brown sugar
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 2 1/2-quart baking dish.

Place bacon in a large skillet and cook over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Drain on paper towels and let cool enough to handle, about 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, cook ground beef and onion in a skillet over medium-high heat, stirring until meat is browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain. Crumble cooled bacon and set aside.

Combine ground beef mixture, bacon, beans, BBQ sauce, white sugar, brown sugar, ketchup, molasses, mustard, salt, black pepper, and chili powder. Spoon into the prepared pan.
